The Weather & Weather Conditions

Print the cards with illustrations of different types of weather or make them yourself. Start with the simple ones: the sun is shining, it is raining, the wind is blowing, it is snowing, etc. If the child is a bit older you can introduce such concepts as: fog, storm, cloudy, breeze, etc. Start by asking what the weather is like today.

Look out the window or go outside to see and feel the weather, and ask your child: Is it warm? Is the sun shining? Is it cold? Are there clouds? – and so on. You can also pin cards to a cork board and ask your child each day to choose a card depending on what the weather is like. Match the cards with the seasons circle and ask your child to make the appropriate links.
