Little Monsters

Materials: straws, watercolours or tempera, a brush, some water, white paper (cardboard or paper plates).

Mix a small amount of tempera with water and place on paper or paper plate. By blowing into the straw, scatter the colour in different directions and create irregular shapes. Having observed you, ask the child to do the same.

When the colours dry, using the brush, paint a pair of eyes and mouth with teeth in the centre of the shape. The spatterd parts will now become hands, legs and tentacles.

Use different colours and make sure you use enough water to make blowing into the straw easy.
