Print (or draw) two copies of images depicting different emotions: happiness, sorrow, anger, surprise, excitement, fear. Cut them out and glue on cardboard or laminate them for durability.

The aim of this activity is to match the same cards – pair two of the same emotions. Then ask the child to name each of the illustrated emotions, explain what it’s like to feel a particular emotion and talk about it.

The cards can also be used to play Memory: turn all of the cards hiding the images and play matching the pairs.
